Minimusic (Ages 4–5)
Minimusic is a pre-reading music theory class that prepares young children for studying piano, voice or any other instrument. Students will be introduced to basic music theory concepts through stories, songs, games, worksheets and class activities.
Our preparatory piano program provides students with a strong foundation for continued study. Our program focuses on reading, listening, rhythm and theory. Students are taught in small groups (4–8 students) and will learn music in a variety of styles.
Guitar lessons are offered for beginning and intermediate students. Lessons include instruction in strumming, finger-picking, playing by ear, and reading music, chord charts and tablature.
Introduction to Voice (Ages 12 & up)
This course focuses on proper use and development of the singing voice. Instruction includes breathing, tone production, diction, ear training, sight singing and stage presence. Repertoire will include a variety of styles appropriate to the young voice including folk songs, Broadway, jazz and art songs.
Trumpet Boot Camp (Ages 13 & up)
This 8-week course aims to teach students proper practice techniques and expansion of knowledge of all twelve major keys by using:
Private lessons are designed for the serious piano student looking for a fast-paced, comprehensive and challenging program. These lessons prepare students to play music of all styles with a heavy emphasis on classical music. In addition to their weekly lesson, students will receive a monthly theory class.
Recreational Music Making (RMM) is based on the philosophy that everyone can learn to play and enjoy music. In this 8-‐week session, students will discover their creativity and musicality through piano playing! Students will play familiar tunes and learn to read music, lead sheets and chord charts in a fun, engaging, social and interactive environment.
